The Maryland Private School State championship was cancelled due to a lack of interest from participant schools. Not surprising perhaps as many of those wrestlers are now in the middle of their spring sport seasons. Over the weekend the National High School Coaches Wrestling championships took place in Virginia Beach, VA. Many Maryland wrestlers participated and did well in an event that is usually the end cap on the wrestling season. This year there will be another “last” tournament of the high school season when the National Prep Tournament occurs over the weekend.

The 2021 National Prep Open will be over May 2-3 at the Mohegan Sun Arena at Casey Plaza in Wilkes-Barre, PA. Like it had been in years past this year’s tournament will be open and will follow COVID-19 protocols
