Maryland High School Wrestling

This weekend is the last matches for the Maryland private school wrestlers who compete in the National Prep tournament. Two of Marylands teams finished in the top 10 with St. Mary’s Ryken coming in 6th and Mount St. Joseph a step behind in seventh. Local writer Billy Buckeit who also seeded the tournament wrote a good summation of the tournament with a Maryland angle in the Baltimore Banner.  You can read that story here. From the MPSSAA side of the Maryland wrestling season it was regional weekend where the top qualifying wrestlers in 1A/2A and 3A/4A fight for a place in next weekend’s public school state championship tournament.
