The MIS, private school state championship, will be held this year at the Harford County Community College and they will follow a covid protocol that includes Covid testing for all coaches and wrestlers. This event is a qualifier for the National Prep Tournament the following week which probably will be following at least as strict a protocol.
All wrestlers and coaches must meet one of the below criteria: • fully vaccinated;
• receive a negative PCR test within 72 hours of the tournament;
• or have tested positive within 90 days of the tournament.
o If they have tested positive in the past 90 days, then it must be 6 days out from testing positive if they were asymptomatic or 10 days out from testing positive or from the first symptoms, if they were symptomatic.
• If a wrestler or coach has taken a PCR test and has not received the results back by Friday, then we will allow them to take an antigen test to show a negative result to be eligible for the tournament. Let me know if you have any questions. All wrestlers must wear masks, except when they are wrestling. • All coaches must wear masks, except when they are sitting in the corner coaching. • All spectators must wear masks.
The MPSSAA has also updated their Dual Meet and Individual Region and State Wrestling Championships.
