Mount St. Joseph had clinched the team championship after the semi-final round—the first MSA team to do so since Gilman in 1971. Mount St. Joseph’s John Hefner was voted the Most Valuable Wrestler, and Guy Zanti won the Russell Cup for most accumulated team points (26).
